Jeff is a fifth-generation Montanan. He grew up in Great Falls before attending Yale University to study history. He then attended law school at the University of Wisconsin where he worked with the Wisconsin Innocence Project to remedy wrongful convictions. Jeff returned to Montana to practice after graduating from law school in 2013.

Jeff has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of civil matters in state and federal court including cases involving breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference, corporate/shareholder disputes, land use and access issues, personal injury and wrongful death, and constitutional right-to-know disputes over access to public records.

Jeff has also been deputized as a Special Attorney General to investigate and prosecute campaign finance violations on behalf of the Montana Commissioner of Political Practices.

Jeff is licensed to practice in Montana and Wisconsin, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Montana Trial Lawyers Association.
