Originally from Lake Oswego, Oregon, Katie received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Puget Sound in 1999. She graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2003, where she served as Articles Editor for the Oregon Law Review and participated on the National Mock Trial Team and Moot Court Board.
After graduation, Katie moved to Bozeman to practice law with Goetz, Baldwin, and Geddes, P.C., where she gained valuable litigation skills representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad spectrum of cases. In 2007, Katie transitioned to serve as Law Clerk for the Honorable John C. Brown, Gallatin County District Judge, a position she held through 2019. Katie’s twelve years of clerking experience provides her with a unique knowledge of the inner workings of the district court, solid relationships with the local judiciary and members of the bar, and a wealth of knowledge from working on a myriad of diverse cases in one of the busiest trial courts in Montana.
Katie now focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation. She is licensed to practice in Montana and Washington.
In her free time, Katie enjoys downhill and nordic skiing, floating Montana’s rivers, exploring local trails on bike and foot, and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
